BOB WISEMAN TROPHY SEASON 2009/10

THE FINAL of the BOB WISEMAN

was played on Tuesday 23/03/10 at 5.45pm
our "Illustrious President George Strang"
has emailed me the following small report.

Alan a report on the BW Final.
Archie got away to a good start and after 4 ends was winning
but then his whole team had a bad end!!!!
Wullie got a 5 when he had to play a very good shot
to take out Archie’s previous stone
which he had drawn through a port to the button.
In the next end Wullie got a 3 which really sealed his win on the night.

With Wullie doing the double................
we will all need to try and stop him next year.

It was also good to see Galston getting a gubbing against the Heather
Hugh Neilson nearly ran out off pegs on the board against my joiner.....

in truth I would have enjoyed the result just as much if Rab had won.

In the semis it was a very close game between Willie and Jim
but Jim was not heavy enough with his last stone.

Archie in the end beat Tommy easily,
the reason he managed this was that he had cotton wool in his ears
a trick I will be using in the future._{Report by President George Strang}

The semi finals are:

Willie Baird vs Jim Strang

Archie Craig vs Tommy Campbell

Interestingly Jim and Archie finished on the same points,
shots scored and shots against,
and so the decision came down to who had won their head to head game.
A narrow win for Archie on that occasion._{W/C....Match Sec'}

A big thank you to "Match Secretary"......Willie Cannon
not only has he compiled the results tables
which have kept you all abreast of the play
but with his rhetorical turn of phrase
and command of sporting medical terms like
..............."sare knee".............
I'm sure you will all agree he has been
superb in his "High Office".
Not withstanding...........................
where would he be without....................
