Eric was running late and just made it in time for the soup and sandwiches.
He along with James Baird quickly set about picking the teams for the day.
Players then set off to change some, (Willie K) should have kept his trousers on......check out his legs in the team photo.
The weather held up and was bright as we set off to try and tame Kings Acre once again (not an easy task).
We had 16 worthies with one newcomer to our ranks in the form of Ronnie (more of him later).
actually Ronnie played last season, so a little of the newness has worn off the lad by now...editor
The course had seen a fair bit of water in the four previous days, and was a stiff test of endurance for the occasional golfer.
Not too much to report on apart from Alison Taylor hitting a birdie at both the 10th and 16th
unfortunately they were both SEAGULLS.
She wondered why the first one hadn't sent out a warning to the others that she was on the course!!!!!
One other Lady did have a real birdie at the 8th the bold Janey
rolling in a putt off her nearest the pin winning drive.
Big Willie King was holding what he thought was the winning longest drive
only for James Baird to come along and pip him (Bandit).
As the round drew to a close I was pleased to have been picked in Eric’s team
as not only did we pick up 1st prize but we got back to the 19th DRY,
much to the annoyance of some others.
